Two finals down - two to go!
I wonder where the term “vegetable” came from, to describe comatose people?
Why not fruit? Maybe because fruit describes crazy people, and they still have brain function.
Maybe because no one eats them?
Happy Holidays!

Your 10,000th day
samreich:
Use Wolfram Alpha and search for your birthday + 10,000 days to figure out when your 10,000th day on Earth will be. You’ll be 27 and a half.
Mine is December 8th, 2011.
Apparently, “You + Me” doesn’t equal Love. Maine. The answer in Maine.

Jim Henson's Workshop
Yesterday we spent part of the afternoon at a traveling exhibit featuring Jim Henson’s many creations. It is absolutely impossible to be in the same room as a muppet and not smile! I hadn’t watched scenes from Sesame Street or Fraggle Rock since I was a kid, but I found myself laughing and loving those creatures all over again.
More than anything else, I think I’m realizing...

A profession by any other name...
…just doesn’t sound as good! There’s something sexy about the word “writer”. Something about being able to tell a story, and tell it well. It could be deep, revealing the soul. Quirky and unique. Short and sweet, it doesn’t matter. Any time I hear someone’s a writer it makes it easier to Love them, even if I don’t know them. If I think of...

Two thoughts
Yesterday, watching the new Indiana Jones movie, two thoughts occured to me: For years film making has followed the precident that it’s okay for the bad guys to miss wide open shots from less than 30 feet. This must stop. I say put two in Indy’s chest and send a message - Russians found a shooting range. If the whole crystal-skull-mayan-calendar-2012 thing is true, I kind of got the...
Graduation
So… I’m graduating from college in 7 short hours (bed time anyone?). I realized a few things: I couldn’t tie a tie before tonight. YouTube is a shitty place to learn how to tie a tie. I need longer ties (I’m tall) My greatest academic semester was junior year, when my fiancee was in France. I didn’t see her for nearly 6 months. I drank more that semester than any...
I just ran my wallet through the washing machine. Luckily though, nothing was ruined. Why? Because everything I keep in my wallet (minus an ID and credit card) are sitting on my dresser drying off from the LAST time I ran it through the wash… Should I be happy about this, or worried?

New Stimulus Plan
So, Bush’s new stimulus package is about to be sent out… I wonder what real effect this will have on the economy? If you ask me, I’ve thought up the perfect stimulus plan: Send $600 to every registered college student in America. Results? Anheuser-Busch and Miller Stocks jump 400% City revenue increases due to DUI tickets Drug company profits rise (Liver medication) Fast food...
Lessons learned
I firmly believe that God punishes students who have put off their school work. Apparently he gets extra pissy when you’re attending a Jesuit university. Official count: 62 Degrees Light breeze 15 pages to go on my Globalization paper by Monday… Ugh. On the plus side, I learned a valuable lesson Wednesday night. When you ask the pharmacist if it’s ok to mix a certain...
